Peace Tee

Peace Tee

T-shirts = my way of expressing emotion. In college when the earthquakes in Haiti hit I went down to the UOregon Bookstore and asked if I printed shirts if they'd be willing to sell them and donate all the proceeds. When our family had a reunion, I'd create shirts for everyone to wear. When my nephew was born I made onesies. Last year when the tragedy at Pulse night club happened we donated proceeds from our Pride shirt. I feel emotions by wearing them, by sharing them. This morning when my aunt texted and said a simple shirt with the word "Peace" was needed right now I instantly texted Joey at Oregon Screen Impressions and talked about the idea. She said the day before she was thinking herself how we could make a shirt to spread love and peace in a time of unrest. With the help of Chris the owner, we printed Peace shirts in under 3 hours and walked to the Hollywood Max station where we handed out hundreds of shirts for free, to just spread something positive, Peace. We didn't do this to capitalize on a situation, we did it because it's how we know how to grieve and give back. After posting about it on social media we had hundreds of people requesting to purchase shirts and support the cause. 100% of the profits will go to the GoFundMe pages for our heroes, Rick John Best, Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche and Micah David-Cole Fletcher.
