Coastal Hikes Near Portland
There's something about those coastal views when you reach the top of a mountain that keeps you wanting more. I think one of best parts about hiking in the PNW is that the unpredictable weather makes it so that no two hikes are ever the same. I have been on mountains in the pouring rain with no views at all, and on clear days without a cloud in the sky. Both hikes are equally rewarding and I think that it just makes it that much better. Here is a list of 3 of our favorite coastal hikes within 2 hours of Portland!
Saddle Mountain
Distance: 5 Miles
This is an out and back hike with beautiful coastal views when you reach the top! The hike is moderate, with a heavily trafficked trail making it easy to navigate your way to the top.
Neahkahnie Mountain
Distance: 4 Miles
This is the out and back option for this route. This is an easy to moderate hike with a beautiful view of Manzanita at the top. There is an option do to an 11 mile loop as well!
Cascade Head
Distance: 5 Miles
This out and back hike has some of the most beautiful views of the Oregon coast. This is an easy to moderate hike. If you're lucky you might even see some whales from the top!
You didn't think we'd leave you hanging there did you? Need a coffee before your hike? Hit up up Sea Level in Cannon Beach or Stimulus in Pacific City - and that post hike beer is going to be best at Pelican Brewing Co.
