This weekend marks the launch of one of Portland Gear’s most anticipated collections, Cascade in Leatherlite. Available Saturday, September 27th at 9:00AM (PST), in three of our best-selling silhouettes: both sizes of Cascade Backpack, and the Cascade Kit.
This new material is a beautiful vegan leather, soft to the touch with a textured, pebble look, and features a tonal metal logo on the front. Enjoy the same great features you know and love about the Cascade Backpack, including a water-resistant exterior, wireframe pop-top opening, comfortable shoulder straps, an organized interior, and more - now in a premium leather.

Behind The Scenes
When it came time to decide where our Leatherlite photoshoot would take place, the team tossed ideas into the air ranging from an elegant coastal trip to a playful wedding story. Ultimately, we landed on a luxurious home in NW Portland, built by architect Daniel Kaven. The story we captured follows a couple enjoying a cozy weekend getaway among the trees. We wanted to highlight the effortless ways our Cascade bags weave style and function into everyday moments, whether traveling or simply slowing down at home.
To make the day even better...
One of the day’s highlights was when a friend swung by with their 1990s Land Rover Defender. Its sleek black-on-black exterior added the perfect finishing touch to the scene and paired seamlessly with the elevated feel of the Leatherlite Cascade line.
