Heart For Hillsboro - Recap
Earlier this month a 4-alarm fire engulfed a building on Main Street in downtown Hillsboro (a suburb of Portland) and impacted over 20 businesses and displaced 17 family members. When we saw a photo of a dress shop recently opened by a Century High School alumni, we knew we wanted to help. From seeing the smiles on her and the communities faces on opening day just a few months ago, to bags of dresses pulled out of smoke and fire broke our heart.
Marcus: "I remember walking these streets as a kid, going to the local farmers market and stopping in the pharmacy for Ice cream so my heart is with everyone in the community of Hillsboro right now. In doing what we do best, we designed and launched two shirts and a sweatshirt where 100% of the profits will be going to the @luciaisabelcollection Go Fund Me page and Hillsboro Community Engagement fund."
Marcus had the opportunity to walk through downtown Hillsboro with the Mayor Mr. Steve Callaway and see the impact of this fire. Not only was it heartbreaking to see what had happened to the building, businesses, and products but it was tough to see that Main Street will be impacted for quite some time due to the closure.
In just over 48 hours the community helped raise over $19,000 for the businesses and families affected by the fire in downtown Hillsboro! Now, two weeks later, we have raised over $20,000. Thank you for being part of this and having a heart for Hillsboro. ❤️
